PolyWorld Generator

The PolyWorld module adds a terrain generator which generates a lot of islands using polygons as a base for the biome boundaries. There are a lot of cool biomes in this generator, including deserts, forests, plains, and tundras, all of which look great. The polygon-based generation pattern produces some very cool effects at the boundaries, since they generate in perfectly straight lines with no deformations or interpolation. Overall it looks really cool when compared to a typical Minecraft-like terrain generator.

There are a few things that I think need improving, though. One thing is the fact that a huge variety of flowers spawn in a lot of the more temperate biomes. This can get a little hard to look at because of all of the different colors everywhere, especially in areas with high flower densities. I think a good fix for this would be to randomize the flower types that spawn in each polygon in addition to the densities. This would also add a little bit more variety to different polygons of the same biome. Another thing I think should be changed is river generation. Rivers currently generate always exactly 1 block under the terrain and exactly 3 blocks wide. I think it would be better if there was a little bit more randomization to these values, to make rivers look a little more interesting.

Here are some screenshots I took:
