Xenforo freebie possibility - thoughts?

I've been tempted since seeing Xenforo for the first time, but held back by the cost, though even that was beginning to erode too. Then out of nowhere it turns out AlbireoX has a license for it he isn't using, and he's up for having us use that for Terasology.

I think that's a pretty generous offer (thanks!), and a pretty spiffy one considering how feature heavy and stylish Xenforo gets

It does look like some of the spiffy extras are addons, some of which may cost extra (need to look around more). But XenPorta is free, there's a wiki floating around too, events, etc. All together I suspect we could use that whole thing for just about everything current, and gain a pile of more stuff. Thoughts? Anybody really tied to phpBB3, etc? Linkies below

If nobody has objections I'd like to get a test install up (license allows for that as long as it is private to the support team) somewhere. There's even a phpbb3 importer we could try. If it all looks good and works well maybe we can convert on over

I am no expert Cervator but from what I was able to see It was a nice setup .... I would so go for it and let's see what will come of it ... I have no objections at all ... my 2 cents are in

Also, on a semi-similar note I'm aware there's something currently broken here on the forum again (avatar upload, email notifications)

I'll be setting up a test forum using the provided license, hopefully tomorrow or the day after. I'll learn from that what is involved in the setup, and also we can probably figure out from there what kinds of customization and addons we would like for an "official" install somewhere.
