Okies, let me shorty explain the "magic scripts" (actually, they are pretty awkward ).

To keep it very simple, you start with downloading the source files as ZIP folder from GitHub - here's a direct link. ;) In general, you can find a "Download ZIP" button on the repository page on the right side. Once the download is finished, extract the ZIP file wherever you want - preferably a location where you can find them later on :D

Unfortunately I cannot upload the script files as *.bat, so I enclosed them as simple text files. In order to get the scripts to work as intended, save the text files within the Terasology folder (right beside "gradlew.bat"). Change the file extension from *.txt to *.bat. Then you should be able to simply run the double-click.

Code:
./gradlew fetchModuleBlockPicker fetchModuleMinerals fetchModuleSoils
./gradlew clean compileJava
fetchSomeModules.bat - Looks as follows. It simply calls the gradle wrapper to fetch three modules (Minerals, Soils, and the BlockPicker).

Code:
gradlew.bat clean compileJava run
cleanAndRun.bat - cleans the working directory, compiles everything and starts the game via the gradle wrapper.

I guess I'm just a VERY SLOW learner when it comes to this kind of stuff

1) I got the Terasology-develop.zip ....downloaded it (it was automatic when I clicked on this link direct link) ;)

2) unziped it to my desktop ;)

3) downloaded ........ A) fetchSomeModules and B) cleanAndRun (from the attached files from your post);)

4) Placed A&B in to terasology folder with the file extension changed from *.txt to *.bat.;)

5) clicked on the "JI terasology" thingy

6) Intellij started and run and brought the splash screen ;)

a) told me I need to pick something about world gen ?????? but nothing was there to pick:speechless:

7) Intellij was ...... Compilation completed successfully with 59 warnings in 2 min 4 sec :speechless:

8) shut it down and started it up again and now I can't even get to the splash screen :(

That is indeed a lot of tiles - dang!

Yeah we need to get you set up so you can just send them to GitHub :D

Maybe sometime tomorrow catch me or @Skaldarnar to get you further set up in-game?

I have 288 tiles done but I see no benefit in posting any more tile pictures and taking up forum space  I will see if I can finish up the tiles today and then see about getting them to GritHub some way :coffee:

We sorted out the issues - new blocks on GitHub, woo!

https://github.com/Terasology/Minerals/tree/master/assets/blockTiles/auto

Plan is to add the new numbered block variants in each their own dir under "auto" since there are so many. The non-numbered original stays where it is, paired with the actual block definition.

Sometime down the road we'll find a better way to connect a "series" of block variants, this way we stay organized in the meantime :)

@metouto should be able to take and post screenshots with the blocks in-game now, yay! Thank you again for all the blocks!

  • Wow Uraninite looks sweet!
  • Talc seems like it has a bit of a horizontal brightening by the top/bottom edge across several blocks? Pretty minor
  • Sylvite and Slate has some sharp-ish edges here and there
  • Shale also looks really sweet! (the ones I'm not mentioning also look good!)
  • Selenite has a few sharp-ish vertical edges where the blocks meet
  • Nice work :D
  • Bullets are great

I can just agree with @Cervator here: great job @metouto

There are some edges/brightness differences here and there, but that's just minor critique ;) Keep on the nice work!

OK here are the block tiles we thought needed improvement ......
  • Terasology-150213095218-1152x720.png this one is Talc 1-5
  • Terasology-150213102000-1152x720.png this one is Sylvite 1-5 ( BTW in this one there was a "cup" like set of blocks in maybe the 3 tile .... that has been taken out .... but it was done after this pic was taken and I didn't retake the pic .... if you would like I can ;) )
  • Terasology-150213105547-1152x720.png this one is Slate 1-5
  • Terasology-150213111235-1152x720.png last but not lest this one is 1-5
As before ...... if you think these are OK ......... then I will move on to my next bunch of tile ........ thank you for your time & comments (@Cervator ...... bullets are great ..... neat thing up a bit ;)) :coffee:

Looking good :)
  • Realgar looks to have a few sharp edges (mostly along the horizontal edges). I love the name, sounds like a mineral barbarians could really enjoy. Realgar the Barbarian - coming to a village near you!
  • Pumice is sort of borderline - there is a lot of contrast to it, maybe smooth out the color changes between some of the harsh contrast spots?
  • Orthoclase looks really neat!

Bring it to GitHub! They look great after the revision, and those two would have be the only ones I'd pointed out for review ;)

I'm kind of relieved to see that we already reached "R" :p
