    Intro Heyho from Ghostbrainz

Welcome! Sounds like a good fit on the biology angle. Hop on IRC sometime the Genome topic and related bits get a fair bit of discussion time now and then :-) Grab a source workspace, add the Genome module and a few others, and ask questions!

    Intro Hi from Arihant

Tutorials! They might not all exactly relate to your chosen area but they're good intros to the code base :-) https://github.com/Terasology/TutorialAssetSystem https://github.com/Terasology/TutorialWorldGeneration https://github.com/Terasology/TutorialNui Also dig around on GitHub and here...

    Suggested Exploration World Ideas

I remember that one! For transitioning biomes we have an extra tool in our tool belt in that the biome block data is so huge we could "fade" in and out of biomes. Probably you could apply some shader hax based on that to literally mix biome theme colors for a super smooth transition. I picture...

    Intro Hi from Arihant

Great! Have you got the game running from source yet? There are a bunch of instructions in our main GitHub repo's wiki :-)

    Intro Hello World!

Welcome! If you're all about UI / UX there are definitely some good items you might want to look at on the list :-) Start by getting a working source workspace then maybe check out https://github.com/Terasology/TutorialNui for some details on our UI framework

    Intro Hello from Manu

No worries on timing and feel free to fish around for other potential players on IRC for testing, that's a good way to coordinate :-) You might try starting with https://github.com/Terasology/TutorialAssetSystem to get a quick into to how some of our game assets work. Adding blocks, items, etc...

    Contributor Shine for a handshake

Hi @Shine ! LibGDX is a great fit for here since yep it is based on LWJGL and we hope to maybe move to LibGDX at some point in the (far) future. Also our Destination Sol project uses LibGDX and even works on Android :-)

    Intro Hi from Arihant

Thanks for the intro and welcome to the community! :-) Did any of the items on our idea page stick out to you as interesting? Most do tend to need Java - but with effort and knowledge of programming in general that isn't an insurmountable obstacle. Some of the items need it less.

    Intro Hello from Sarah!

IRC is the absolutely best place to ask questions. Activity level varies by time of day since we have contributors all over the world, but if you go online, ask, then either hang out or check back once in a while you should get an answer soon enough :-) Most users tend to leave a client logged...

    Intro Hello everyone (GSoC-Behavior Trees)

Hello fellow Java 1.4 certified programmer! :D Sounds like you've got some impressive background there! AI is a big field and we could use a lot of help with it. I've read a bit about OpenAI just haven't had the time to dig in much. Would love to see some more ideas on that, although yeah I...

    Suggested Exploration World Ideas

To chime in further from the discussion on some focus points: biomes have naturally been done before, but in games like MC they don't tend to matter a whole lot and often are entirely random (mostly meaning vanilla MC here, I realize there are mods that improve it). Mostly they just give a...

Contributor Nice to see you !

Belated official welcome, and Contributor badge granted for recent work! Very good stuff and cool to see you pop up in different places being helpful. Eager to see what you end up coming up with for a GSOC proposal! :-)

March play test event soon and we got into GSOC 2017!

Our monthly play test event starts in about 11 hours but goes pretty much for the remainder of the day as long as there are people around to help play and test things :) The event server is available although I'll probably reset it closer to the start time. May also reset or reconfigure...

    Intro Hello from Sarah!

Hello Sarah and welcome :-) You should be fine skill-wise. GSOC doesn't assume you're already an expert - that's what we're supposed to help you get closer to! @SuperSnark will be glad to hear about more L&S interested contributors, and your GSOC interest picks are great. Here are some...

    Suggested Exploration World Ideas

The creatures angle is really what I've been wanting to push since the very first pitch I made to @begla years ago that started this whole crazy journey - back then there was even only Blockmania, the Terasology name hadn't even been thought up yet! Thinking about it some more got me to one...

    Intro Introduction Aditya Jain

Hey there! I've worked closely with both an Aditya and a Jain at my previous position, so that's a fun bit of nostalgia to remember. I miss those guys :-) For Android you might actually want to check out our side project Destination Sol, which works on Android (and Steam). We have a pending...

    Intro Hello from Manu

Recruit ALL the Manus! Welcome! :D I saw you in the IRC log once or twice, but am not sure if we heard from you what sort of area you'd be interested in working on? Do any of the GSOC ideas seem interesting to you? Have you managed to run the game from source yet? Do let us know if you have...

Design Refactor Camera to be Component based

Manu speaks the truth, go for a "safe" base proposal and include some extras you can approach if able :-) I wouldn't consider the Leap as a potential part of this or really any other ideal GSOC proposal. It is a really peripheral topic (heee) and depends on a lot of other stuff like...

Design Refactor Camera to be Component based

Moved to the Suggestions forum as a Design thread :-) Hopefully we can eventually move this again into the Core/Engine type forum as a design, doc, and discussion thread for anything Camera related!
