Inactive Hide water edges with foam effects?

Aw man, that would be sweet :D I just badgered begla about the current water block sides, maybe an animated vertical water flow could both solve that and allow waterfalls!

    Archived autosave?

Sorry to hear you lost that much work, would've loved to see it! Yeah auto save would be good, in the meantime it might be wise to exit to main menu occasionally to get saves that way :-) Maybe this is something that could come along with multiplayer, if the server needs to maintain world...

    Drawbridges? Gators/crocks?

Sure, could be done - might take a little more work to get an animated drawbridge, but alternatively you could essentially take a door, flip it on its side, and make it bigger :-) The "dynamicBlocks" module also has a persistent yet dynamic block you can move around the world, maybe something...

Dupe Launcher, automated updates, and versioning

Posting in a locked thread! Also, the other launcher thread is in the Incubator properly now, so yep, this thread is obsolete :-)

    Archived Adjustable time, real time

Hi nodots :-) Modding here isn't very hard at all, although changing the passage of time is a little beyond what's easily available to modding at the moment I'll admit :D

    Screenshots!

For some reason plain "Tao" comes to mind. If "Untrue Tao" is our concept of two factions with wildly differing views (steampunk vs nature) then that village somehow seems like the true combination of the two - not very technological, yet not completely based in nature either, just an idyllic...

    Screenshots!

Aw man, that first one. That first one, aw man! I know what tonight's FB update will be, heh :D I really love the feel of the houses, it seems just right, really easy to imagine it being populated by humans or so. We're totally going to get those things in the shape of a PAG definition, right...

Video: Advanced water rendering (and all the other recent rendering tweaks)

The different format used by Announcements/Events breaks some stuff. Yet I could swear I found a way in the past to view it as a normal thread. Unsure how to fix, need a webmaster :D

    Inactive Combat

Yep! I can see the "arrow" now and all three bows work great :D Hilarious to fire ricochet arrows in a small cave ;) Bouncy arrows are fun for how they maintain direction after bouncing, so they'll wiggle away into the sky like fish :scootangel: Nicely done! Edit: Built in the Jenkins...

    Inactive Combat

I'd be all over that :-) I additionally like the idea of segmented models where limbs and such can fall off with damage, although maybe more in a cartoony fashion than a gore'ish one

WIP Awesome New Blocks/Block shapes Production Thread!

Almost missed this as I ended up bringing up the thread's page 4 rather than 3 - nice video A'nW ! Excellent presentation, tempo, and topic focus. Off to FB with the link! Looking forward to part 2 :-) Josh - hunt us some videos for the Youtube channel / tutorial thing already :D

    Inactive Leap Motion Controller

We're at a point now where we can make videos of the Leap in action - but there are some challenges left before said videos are good enough to publish ;-) I made a couple first drafts and they aren't pretty but I uploaded one, unlisted and unedited, to YouTube - since we promised a video I...

    Inactive Combat

Awesome! :) The bows certainly do the job of knocking over gelcubes, clever "death animation" by the way, however the projectiles are not visible for me even after returning to the main menu and reloading the world :( I can affect the miniion monkeyheads as well with the bows although I'm...

    Screenshots!

Doh, I just realized the above screenie is wrong - I haven't gotten used to the new video quality settings yet and was on "Epic" not "Insane" which still is quite wavy

    Screenshots!

Pulled latest, updated screenie below.I might have gotten used to the noisy setup, now it seems too quiet :D Would be ideal if the open sea was noisier than a nice isolated cove like below, or weather having an impact, but I'm already nitpicking and that seems like a tall order ;-)

    anybody tried this one yet?

Saw it when it launched and yeah very excited to give it a play sometime. Hoping they'll iron out some launch issues (at least I'm reading a lot of negativity on its Steam community hub) and publish a demo soon :-) About time somebody did a proper refresh for DK.

    Screenshots!

Here's an awesome view I came across looking for a good spot to make a video. Note that the open space to the right a bit is not unloaded world, just a huge overhang. You can actually see a little sunlit terrain beyond it on the left edge :-)

    Inactive Leap Motion Controller

Running a little email thread with a Leap group for work on the library Jitter - some summary notes for what the lib could do: Capture and trigger input events (axis events, hand events, maybe basic gestures, maybe something about the "grab sphere"?) that we can map to our events rather than...

    Inactive Leap Motion Controller

Ended up working on some unrelated topics tonight that I've been putting off for weeks or even months :-) I like the current leap controls and am seeing the potential for offering a few control schemes. Like: Two hands pure Leap (sort of current functionality with a few more gestures) One...
