Huh, in that one I don't even see a crash. Did you rerun the game only to the menu then shut it down normally? I don't see a world being created :-)

WIP Awesome New Blocks/Block shapes Production Thread!

Here's the most simplistic block shape request we'll ever have: A flat single face "shape" :D Need that for stuff like vines (one from eleazzaar is still pending addition) and the railroad tracks metouto just prepped. I brought those up thinking a flat rail track would be a nice placeholder...

Oho, that's true. If each block is placed individually in the world stuff might happen per-block all at once. Reminds me of the ideal to "stagger" the activation of physics cubes when you blow something up to limit performance spikes. Maybe we could do something similar with the placement of...

Request Art request - mascot, logo, badges

I'm not sure, SuperSnark is the stylist :D I thought all the badges should be one color each, but the Contributor badge kinda works being colorful. All the Gooey blocks are "themed" in some way to fit the badge - but again, except the one in the Contributor badge, and you could argue "Modder"...

Request Art request - mascot, logo, badges

Annnnd finally actually put the Hunter and Spout badges to use :-) Also enabled group tagging which means if I write Hunter Team it should alert Josh since he's currently the only one on that team. Leaving his actual username untagged to see if it works :D This thread also reminded me that I...

It works! Had a chance to try it for myself. Neat. Can definitely picture it getting more detailed and creating sophisticated buildings :-) Also takes surprisingly long, are these buildings being put together by hamsters? :D

Hi GBSteve and Chris Maler :-) Chris - is that the whole log? It seems like it cuts off right where it gets interesting talking about the uncaught exception that crashed the game - if needed you can copy-paste to a site like pastebin instead if the forum post complains about too much text...

What it means to be a boatman ...

Okay, finally had a chance to see the video - sweet! Didn't realize you could actually stand on the locomotive block and move with it, awesome :D I put this and some other stuff on our FB tonight. Nicely done, pencilcheck :-)

    Implementation Portals

Pulled - thanks :-) Not sure on your question though - I spent a little time on extra but it is getting late. I'll put some updates in the original post including details on the new gellies :D

Request Art request - mascot, logo, badges

That's covered partially by the Artist and World (content) badges, even Architecture when it comes to more central engine topics. Although we're going to need a "Modder" one soon which can then cover all "general content" bundled as such :-) Not sure what sort of Gooey that might be embodied...

Curiously, how would a circular mountain chain near the equator work out? If the mountains are high enough can they "resist" the encroaching heat and leave an interior valley at lower than average temps? Not sure that's realistic or desirable, it just came to mind for some reason. Could...

    .... .. / .- .-.. .-.. / ?

Hello George, and welcome! :-) Any ideas for what you'd like to work on? Do ask if you have any questions on how to set up your development environment with IntelliJ and GitHub :geek:

Alas, no. TeraBullet isn't our most used dependency. It may only be Immortius (as the author) and aherber (combat system branch) that have used it so far, or even done much at all with physics-based collisions.

    Implementation Portals

Finally got a chance to review the pending pull request - am really appreciative to have you enhance the setup, I wanted to do ranged spawning and such myself, so you're saving me precious time. Now it is 1 am though and I need to work the rest of the week, so I'll try to get around to posting...

Esereja - very cool and creative use of the height map straight to a weird world type, kudos :D Yeah, definitely would be neat to keep around for feeding arbitrary images to. Reminds me a bit of the "generate a world based on a seed taken from a specific CD" suggestion from a while back :-)...

I love the idea of ropes being able to "hold" something of a certain weight before breaking (or triggering something), or allowing things to swing freely while being suspended. Right now physics-enabled blocks can exist and bounce around in the world, I'm not sure how we go beyond that or how...

    Tweaking Chunk Storage

Thanks Panserbjoern :) I'll leave the closer code review up to Immortius although I have one big suggestion - could you try to write a benchmark test for these new classes akin to this ? That might be a good way to get some statistics to compare them more exact to each other, the existing...

歡迎 ! Hopefully that means welcome, or the internet has misled me! :D Your interests sound like a good spot to hit. We're beginning to do more with blocks like through @AdeAdeon his growing crafting system, you can throw blocks around (might be able to play bowling with some patience), and...

Infinite / finite: Both :) "World Shape" is another parameter to add to world generation at some point (flat, cylinder, donut, etc). Not all generator steps would necessarily be valid for all world types. Infinite worlds have some benefits and drawbacks, finite worlds other, and you can mix...
