That's Mumble - it works great. I have a server working on one of my (offline) home servers, I could probably get it back online for tomorrow. It has survived a WoW raid with a dozen or two people on it, but likely they were most/all in the US. I might be able to set one up on our webhost...

TeraCraft - Experimental Tekkit-based MC Server

Bump. Server is back up - crashed (or more accurately almost entirely locked up) days ago due to some sort of massive CPU overload in a single chunk overloaded with mechanics or EE or something - I don't know exactly what as I couldn't even approach the area in McEdit, had to just delete the...

I've only heard from Immortius so far, and am leaning toward the later time at least during this out of sync period with daylight saving time - Immortius also seems substantially more of a morning person than me ;-) In that case later is probably better, but I expect we can get some people on...

    Inactive Crafting

Yep! Very much like what I'd like to see. I could imagine the player able (but inefficient) at crafting a lot of fundamentals, and more apt at making initial designs. I do like the idea of "blueprint research" but possibly as an extra, not an initial system. Similar to EVE Online :-)

Gnomoria looks adorable :D Reminds me of Sim City 2000 for some reason. Must be the hills. Looks radically different than anything we have currently though?

While normally I'll say a picture is worth a thousand words said picture does need to be detailed in that case instead of simply a drawing of a happy Gooey flying a spaceship :D

    Hello everyone.

Welcome, happy to have you on board, and thrilled to see some potential to get the exact area you mention developed more :-) There are a few threads around for crafting and interface stuff - we've had some initial discussion on UI setup, blueprints, and fun stuff like that, but no solid design...

    Hey There!

Hey Asher - already met you on IRC and was happy to see you get running from source to work :) Also thrilled to have some tweaks for the GitHub wiki, a picture is worth a thousand words! I hope you can keep it up, great way to learn is to try stuff out then help improve the instructions to...

    Inactive Combat

If you're that familiar with Steampunk and assorted historic eras you'd be welcome to flesh out those ideas further. We really haven't gone a whole lot beyond "Hey Steampunk seems cool and would fit well with mechanics and such!" - some ideas on the line-ups (and a potential nature/genetics gone...

    Inactive Combat

Steampunk :-) At least, that's a nice option. I expect a tech tree and factions that might differ fundamentally will bring more diversity to the setup.

    Inactive Space

*shifty giggle* :trollestia: It is still too big and vague. Try this mind exercise: Hypothetically describe your concept to another programmer who doesn't know anything about space, with enough detail so implementation can begin with nothing other than your design notes Open-ended potential...

This isn't so much one feature as a huge pile of individual features. I'd suggest spinning off smaller incubator threads for more topic-specific scope (one at a time). Quests etc are completely different, for instance, you'd do a quest interface as a core system / core content feature then do...

    Archived Poll: Artistic style

I figure it might mean that despite it working well in that setting it doesn't exclude the idea of trying something different :-)

Expanding a quick bit on my "debate club" example - the below is not constructive :D "I came here for a good argument!" "No you didn't!"

    Archived Design by committee

The thread is derailing because it is becoming about arguments and confrontation rather than an objective discussion of the issue at hand - whether an art direction can be picked communally or needs a central person with a specific vision :p That is a valid discussion but different people...

Inactive My thoughts on realistic water

Nice write-up! Well done :D I can see a lot of our existing ideas and concepts scattered in there and would love to see all the pieces get put together and implemented. Definitely want to see aquifers and pressure, and think this is doable (I've written up some stuff on it before) Yup on...

FrameRate bricht nach und nach ein O_o

Best would probably be feedback from begla but he's swamped with RL stuff again or Immortius but he already gets called in on everything :D

My personal inclination currently is toward peer consensus and democracy, at least to an extent. Like the poll was made to get a more exact feel for what the current contributors would like to see, but not a guarantee that we'd just pick whichever option per category that got the most votes :-)...

Thank you for the constructive criticism, Hushed - it is both apt and very appreciated. It helps shake up the status quo some :-) Personally I simply don't believe I have enough depth in art to really push any one direction, and I recognize at least some of the flaws in the strategies I've...
