Temp Foswiki up / GitHub wiki construction

Updated a bunch more GitHub wiki pages especially fixing broken links. Also created a page on Markdown in IntelliJ and using Git to edit the wiki which continues to be very nifty. Started updating the readme to reflect master and develop separately, but that's not done yet, it is nearly 2 am...

    Height Limit

That's pretty much what Terasology\src\dev\java\org\terasology\world\chunks\store\ChunkCachePerformanceTest.java is - we could probably extend off that to test new formats. Kai Kratz prepped that :-) As for fading sunlight - maybe we can calculate an average "surface" height and then only care...

    Lore

Haha, I love it Sounds like a fairly well organized society exists in the present, that's probably more realistic than the "You stand alone in a vast pristine land - enjoy!" - dunno how that'll change how you might start the game, but where there's a will there's a way :pinkiecrazy: And for...

    TerasologyLauncher - www.terasologywiki.de

I can second the recommendation to install a nice IDE - Eclipse vs IntelliJ doesn't really matter much if you can find somebody to help support you in getting it working :-) With Eclipse I couldn't help, but if Perdemot is up for helping with Eclipse take advantage! :D Some of the launcher...

Sir ? Lady ? Do you have a model for me?

Welcome back then, RampageMode - we all make mistakes!

Temp Foswiki up / GitHub wiki construction

/me waves wand at thread title and location for more accuracy I've found my way into working the GitHub wiki via Git (in IntelliJ), which is pretty dang spiffy. Figured out how I can scratch my automated documentation itch some while also differentiating between stable/unstable features: 1)...

    TerasologyLauncher - www.terasologywiki.de

Updated the link real quick and posted a reply on the other site :-) Totti1992 was also working on one here but alas neither is in Java :-( They can be useful and we can add more ideas, but ultimately we'll need one in pure Java :-) I have some ideas on how to bundle up change info better...

    Cervator's work thread

BWAHAHAHA! It works! http://jenkins.movingblocks.net/job/GroovyCheckstyler/ :omg: Long and arbitrarily goofy process: A local Jenkins instance on my desktop PC runs a "GroovifiedFirefox" job that copies in my Firefox session data file to its workspace, which incidentally is the Git-home of...

    Multiplayer Using Minecraft Server Protocol

Heya rapodaca ! Nice to see you again, been a while :) Immortius already put some basic network classes into Terasology (based on Netty) and we did some of the abstraction a long time ago (world interface, local world class), etc. I'm not really sure what the next step is. It looks like most...

    Project Modding Arc

Sweet! Thanks :-) I got a weird IntelliJ Groovy plugin error trying to compile, but then I've needed to update IntelliJ for a while, was still on 10-something. Worked fine after upgrading to latest.

    Archived Adjustable time, real time

Hi Stewie ! That sounds quite doable as a mod/toggle. Not sure if it would be particularly difficult. We'd need somebody to do it though :D

    WIP Animals

Maybe? Not sure if we could just switch the texture and resize something if need be?

    Biomes and map generation

Here - easier :D https://github.com/MovingBlocks/TeraMisc/commit/fc71c0c298ef5a669016b11f48bddc2a231b0fab I set it up in IntelliJ with the existing project setup you can generate under TeraMisc. I'm not sure how to define util/plasma as a source directory, so had to do that manually, then...

    Monsters

basilix - actually something like that has sort of come up over in the world theme thread in a possible scenario with a nature loving race that would have a special relationship with plants like that :-)

Sir ? Lady ? Do you have a model for me?

No worries - thanks for the work! And hope to see you make it back consistently online soon :-)

    Terasology Code Style Conventions

FYI - some quick stats for how many warnings the different line length settings would actually provoke: length = warnings 80 = 3,751 100 = 1,595 120 = 720 140 = 361 160 = 178 120 fits comfortably in my IntelliJ with both sidebars open (but narrow). Any shorter than that would be unrealistic...

Yeah, no workaround there I'm afraid. It is possible we'll expand compatibility in the future, but no solid plans at the moment.

    Inactive Steam GreenLight

I personally like the idea of Steam Greenlight, and stuff beyond that. There's potential there, like just about everywhere, and I have some far-future thoughts on the topic. Have barely had time to pay attention lately, however, so thanks for the reminder, DNovander :-) As far as legal issues...

    Terasology Code Style Conventions

Thanks! How many warnings would 120 trigger? It does seem like it might be a little narrow with the crazy monitors of today. How many do 130, 140, or 150?

    Cervator's work thread

Edit: Will probably move items from here not worthy of moving to the issue tracker or an Incubator thread into a public Remember The Milk list So I'm going to try something new! Been thinking about this for a while. Rather than keep a hopeless amount of stray text files, wiki notes, and...
