    Archived Bug..... Please Read

begla changed the leaf blocks due to a rendering issue, I believe it had something to do with rendering the stuff visible through the leaves. Not enough of a wizard to give more details :-) Axes/Pickaxes do differ some depending on the block you're targeting, but yes, you can break everything...

    Biomes and map generation

I think I got myself confused about regional features and regional generation - thinking again the cities would get placed during world gen, but they wouldn't "hatch" until the player gets within regional distance, at which point (for infinite worlds) you then might place more cities further out...

    Villages Concept and stuff

"Likes" are like approval posts without content :-) Tagging users do not trigger email notification, sending convos does, sometimes you have to dig up feedback more directly! :D I'm working on some more notes in another reply to the biome / map gen thread - will be done soon

    Biomes and map generation

Okay, looked at this some more and I'll rattle some cages for more feedback :) The sample images of generated worlds look absolutely sweet and far more realistic than anything I've seen before. I'd love to see something like that for the finite/planet mode world gen. I do think we can support...

    Lore

Sounds good to me, gives a bit more purpose than the "arbitrary middle of nowhere" - and it is a little similar to the start scenario in DF where you outright manage an expedition meant to set up a new settlement Makes sense if the machinists start near mountains/caves/ruins or so, the shamans...

    Inactive Procedural Architecture Grammar

Looking forward to seeing more of this! :-) From my understanding this will allow the writing of PAG files that'll support generating stuff to fit certain patterns, like buildings. Curiously, will it also work the other way around - analyzing something to see if it qualifies to be something...

    WIP Player/NPCs models

I like him. Nice fit, goes really well with the earlier discussion and ideas :-)

    Archived Bug..... Please Read

Hehe, yeah, the fog can be a little overwhelming some days - hint hint begla :D In the meantime F3 + arrow keys can get you a nice clear day pretty quick ... :-) Windows 8 - my understanding is that video card drivers might be spotty still. Leaf textures did actually go solid a while back...

[Sep 15, 2012] Art Meeting - style review (IRC)

Preparing an official event entry for the meeting on art discussion with glasz and all the artists (able to make it + budding new ones if interested) on this coming Saturday. Hopefully I've got the right timezone - 6 pm GMT (so I guess that's 2 pm for eastern US, which is in EDT currently not...

Lore - Recent History - Overview

Yup! *casts "merge thread" spell which is totally not a genetic ability to manipulate digital matter*

    Height Limit

Block categories like that would be super important to get nice geology going too - good ole DF mineral layering :-)

    Archived art meeting

Sounds like late european afternoon Saturday is the best bet currently if we do this weekend, although that might be a bit short notice. Any way you could make it online for a bit then, Perdemot ? Not that we can't do it in a later weekend :-)

Lore - Recent History - Overview

Haha, that's great and hilarious :D With a bonus Ayn Rand reference, even! I might merge it into one of the other lore threads though, if you don't mind :-)

    Biomes and map generation

Good stuff, and the finite world option has come up before. I don't think a one time lengthy world generation for something like that would be much of a problem, DF does that too and yeah if we can graphically display the progress to the user then cool :-) Yeah GPL would be tricky, but drawing...

Dupe Launcher, automated updates, and versioning

Okay, here's my crazy scheme for automating change history for multiple release types while allowing a manual point to add human"polish" to make said changes more readable than our average Git commits: Dev build runs with a set of changes. We can add a Groovy step using JGit or something...

    Chris' Music Showcase

I think it fits fine - it might not slip into the world as neatly as some other pieces, but it could go with a quirky race or some strange scenario we haven't yet thought of :D (or at the very list good for videos/trailers!)

    TerasologyLauncher - www.terasologywiki.de

If they're working on different launchers, then yeah, bad - if we can get everybody collaborating on the same launcher (if it needs that much effort) then that might be better :-) Good catch on the Launch4j, looks very promising
