WIP Awesome New Blocks/Block shapes Production Thread!

New block shape request! Cables and such for the block network Marcin Sciesinski is working on :-) One FB user guessed one of my nefarious future plans - crafting cable blocks in the crafting cube to become smaller and smaller to where a single block can contain a complicated circuit. In that...

    Hello

Welcome! Very impressive first impression with the block network :D I also suspect you aren't even nearly our oldest contributor ;) Also: Contributor badge!

Trouble with changing how the block is rendered

Yeah this has come up in the past under various scenarios. I think there was something about the lighting system needing work. And we've talked about texture variants before it just hasn't led to code yet . Another good example is the idea of a quantity-based bookcase. You could do that now with...

WIP [LaS] Light and Shadow - Art Discussion

Aw man - dice as catapult ammo? That is just freaking awesome. And cubic! :D I want to see a giant die embedded into a damaged tower wall in-game. Then I will be a happy nerd.

WIP [LaS] Light and Shadow - Art Discussion

News! Marcin Sciesinski popped up just a few days ago and already created a "block network" module that's essentially the foundation for stuff like redstone. No incubator thread yet but I made a demo video real quick. Just like that we have something that cool from out of nowhere :omg: How...

    Gronkh Song?

Hi green_tako ! I think begla actually tried sending an email to the company address a month or two ago, no response :-( I might try it again a little later, maybe he'll have an easier time spotting it after getting back from E3. Thanks for the tip :-)

    Gronkh Song?

Okay, just posted on his FB, although I'm not totally sure how that works, I guess the message will just show in the "recent posts by others" section which has multiple posts per hour, so ... :-) Also tweeted which might have better odds since our account is among only about a hundred or so...

    Hello!

Welcome back Aqua ! Check out Light & Shadow, one of the big new developments while you've been away. We need volunteers to help implement some of that content if you're interested :D

    Chris' Music Showcase

Feedback given via Skype. Summary: It's crazy you can just throw something like that together :D

    Gronkh Song?

I can try to ping him on FB and Twitter (had talked to Philaxx about that for an anniversary contest) but remain somewhat skeptical on whether he'll notice or reply :-) Can we plan a "Gronkh army arrived" bonus track for volume two? That might sort of set it apart from the overall track in...

    Chris' Music Showcase

A 40-60 minute symphony? Chrisk - you're crazy! In an awesome kinda way :D Sounds good to me, it is all from live stuff from your studio pieced together to slowly work out how the overall piece should go, then down the road the whole thing gets recorded live, is what you're saying? We're...

    Inactive Liquid Simulation

Very cool! I tested it and yeah while the life blocks are extremely laggy and brings the game to its knees pretty fast I can see it working. I made a highlighted build to test it but probably should wait till it gets optimized to really push it on the social outlets :-) As for block-level data...

    Cervator's work thread

Okay, progress at last! I'm trying to balance between contributor reach-out, general organization, and actually doing some work myself. Finally attached the module split-out to the point where something visible. I've got Git commands that'll extract a module out of the current code base into...

    Hiding blocks from the UI

Well, I'd favor something IDE agnostic if doable. Most of us are using IntelliJ, but I like being able to support Eclipse (or even NetBeans etc). Uncrustify sounds interesting, especially if we can match it right with Checkstyle :) If you're up for trying to prep a tool setup, be it Uncrustify...

    Hiding blocks from the UI

I'm not sure, but doubt it. We have Checkstyle to tell us when the format and conventions are off, but I'm not sure IntelliJ or something is smart enough to take that kind of config into consideration when auto-formatting. Might just be spaces vs tabs and stuff you can configure manually. If...

WIP [LaS] Light and Shadow - Art Discussion

That's awesome - has a very "heavy" feel to it, which is just right. Reminds me of an ancient chess game I had on my Amiga 500 where the rooks were stone golems and walked with this sweet "ton of bricks" sound.

WIP [LaS] Light and Shadow - Art Discussion

I was going to say #2 was too white in comparison with the red fool, in which case I'd throw my vote in either for #1 or tweaking the red fool with a little more black - but yeah the one in the lineup with one added piece of white could be just right :-)

Terasology Jenkins now tied to GitHub via OAuth

For anybody who might notice (probably few): Our Jenkins is now tied directly to use GitHub's user system rather than its separate internal system where you had to register (or get detected in commits). On logging on you'll now get redirected to GitHub just once to authorize the integration and...
