Nice to see it with subtitles, even if I did get most of it before :D

I posted it to our FB :)

I worked on some synthesizer programming today trying to create a synthesizer that sounds similar to the dark knight bass synth. I came up with a cover of "Snowflakes" for terasology, the distorted guitar is actually a reversed piano-sample I recorded today hooked up to a guitar amp :D

Not really useful for the game, but was good to get a feeling for synth programming.

As I told Cervator already, I started working on the cave ambience soundtrack. The goal was to create around 10-20 minutes of creepiness and I just uploaded a little teaser for the whole ambience soundtrack on soundcloud.

I used a bit more electronic instruments to create the atmosphere, hope it fits with the organic feeling of my other songs :)

Tell me what you think.

Quick update:
I just published the first soundtrack album to iTunes, Spotify, simfy and Amazon :) I had a talk to Cervator via Skype about releasing the OST album and he got the idea to split the soundtrack into several albums so I can now release the first songs and can still work on some new stuff.

If you want to support my work and want to help me to finance new music equipment, you can listen to the Terasology soundtrack using Spotify :) I don't expect anyone to buy the album, you can still download the songs on my soundcloud account if you want.

You can also grab a real CD of the Terasology soundtrack via Amazon :) I think I'll be the one who buys most of the CDs because I want to give them away as a gift to make some advertisement for the game :D

I've been meaning to come up with an excuse to use Spotify, so maybe this'll be it ;)

Image is broken for me btw. Got some more links? I could throw the Spotify thing on FB, or share it if you do :)

I think it takes up to 2 weeks until you can actually listen to the music on Spotify. I'll post the link as soon as it is uploaded :)

A little update on the ambient transitions:
I actually experimented with my transition idea today and wrote some lines of C# spaghetti code to try if it works as expected. My test program exported a transisted wave file to my hard drive, that i uploaded to my soundcloud account :)

https://soundcloud.com/chriskoebke/terasology-ice-ambience

The transitions are only noticable, if you know the seperate parts of the soundtrack, otherwise it's just a single song. I tried some random orders too and it seems to work fine :)

There is also a room for the Terasology soundtrack on Sounddrop, a music sharing app inside Spotify:

Aand I also uploaded a orchestrated version of "The Legend of Zelda" theme and a 15 minutes piano improvisation.

Tell me what you think about it.

On the icy ambiance - perfect! I wasn't overly looking for the transitions and the whole thing sounded completely natural to me. I really think being able to mix up the ambiance tracks like that will be a great feature, even if it won't necessarily stick out - since it fits in so quietly you aren't likely to notice unless somebody points it out ;)

Zelda thing probably would stick out to me more if I had ever played Zelda or really heard any of the music in the first place :(

Nice improvisation, can hear some influence from "the classics" :D

The last days some abandoned ruins came to mind for a nice place to explore, maybe you can include some tracks for windy, abandoned ruins/cities ;) Maybe a little bit frightening?

Commented via Skype - good stuff :D

I could really see an official trailer in the mid-range future with that music in it.
