    Inactive Combat

That' what I basically meant. I didn't think that far with the helmet as additional collision volume ;) Just: have a helmet and it's stats say: "Wear me and you get 23% better chance to ricochet" which is added to the collision angle percentage. Also my thoughts all were based on an arrow...

Definitiv eine gute Sache wenn das schön gepflegt wird :)

    WIP Player/NPCs models

Another issue: Visible, worn items would have to be adepted to other player models ;)

Great stuff here! What could be cool: As we don't have those plain cubic bodies for the caracters we could calculate the angle an arrow hits (sword maybe simillar). This is basically one dot product of calculation and then calculate a percentage chance of an arrow to ricochet :) Maybe armor will...

    WIP Player/NPCs models

If we allow own playermodels we definately need to renounce ourselves from playermade models. In the end some giant penisman is jumping around and some mother sues us... To stay realistic i'd let them choose from some parts made by us, like Skaldarnar suggested. If we have some PVP or even just...

[Sep 29, 2012] Terasology 1st birthday! (Google Hangout)

And I'd definately say we invite Gronkh. I mean: he can't do more than say no and if he attends we get again a huge publicity. Would be very cool to play with one of the most famous youtubers out there :) ps: physical party would be where? (if organized^^)

    Inactive Real Liquids

I also thought about eroding, this would be so cool imho. The game could check the underlying material and if some value (stream*time or sth) is exceeded break the block. We need to pay attention that we don't get too much information in the blocks (see blockvalue thread...) If it's still open...

Rainbow for the milestone thingy ;) Some party would be cool ;) In September I probably have time, too ;) GOOOO Terasology :D

    Inactive Real Liquids

Oceans I definitely agree to be infinite. With rivers I'd delay any statements, because when we really have different heighlevels on the landscape (mountain region being several blocks higher than ocean level) and we have rivers (Something like in this article - I really start loving it ;) )...

    Inactive Real Liquids

1, you need to calculate EVERY flowing liquid, river, emptied out bucket, lava, (oil) etc. 2, for a decent graphic you need approximately 1000 particles per cubic meter (divided a blocks lengh, depth and heigh in 1/10). Multiply this with the amount of water and you get a ridiculus amount of...

    Terasology-fan Ideen/Verbesserungen/Vorschläge-6

    Villages Concept and stuff

I have one idea to kinda "rescue" the city biome thing: If we go with polygonal mapgeneration (which I like more and more to be honest ;) ) we can declare one polygon as a city region and flatten it. The following "second pass" with the noise to generate the more fine details would be skipped...

    Villages Concept and stuff

City style could be somewhat random between the adjascent biomes. The problem (if you want to call it like this) is that biome borders aren't specifically declared - biome is a feature of a block. At the moment it's like we have a temperaturemap and humiditymap and depending on this maps the...

    Villages Concept and stuff

Perdemot I don't fully understand why you need dijkstra in the first place. You have a lower boundary for the value given by the air distance. So A* (which is nothing other than a evolved dijkstra) will give you the shortest path. Or did I miss something? Ten'son' What will be interesting is...

[Aug 18, 2012] Dev Meeting - organization (#terasology on Freenode IRC)

I can imagine that it's difficult to accommodate so many people. Well, most of the time the smaller groups will meet to handle their stuff; I think bigger meetings will be the exception, so you can take your time for this (If theres no public festival e.g. ;) )

[Aug 18, 2012] Dev Meeting - organization (#terasology on Freenode IRC)

Thats also what I ended with... Darn it, I have an urgent meeting with several friends and some beer steins at the last day of a local public festival called Allgäuer Festwoche :) Sorry guys :( (but c'mon, saturday evening? ;) :O) Will someone provide the logs that I may add my two cents when...

    Biomes and map generation

This could be very interesting. So the world map describes the overall shape and height of the map, regional things like hills, plateaus etc are added later. Sounds great. Finally we would have mountains be really high (not just from sea level but also when you are at the botom of the mountain...

So could anyone translate this into german summertime? I don't trust my math or some strange websites with time convertion and summer/wintertimes ;)

    Biomes and map generation

glasz This approach is very interesting, although we wouldn't have overhangs with the 2d Polygons... But I'd like to read into this topic anyway :) Cervator I found this thread but as it's quite old and there was not much movement I decided to open this thread to take a semi new approach. The...

    Biomes and map generation

This would be very nice! In fact the seperation you described is kinda my seperation in first and second. I'm not very well-read with this whole topic but I can imagine starting on this topic when the real programming cracks are busy with other stuff, if you want ;) mkalb: thats exactly what I...
